The point of view in this novel is told in third person, limited. Often there will be a shift in mid-chapter from one character to the next, but always in first person and from their point of view. The situation may be the same event, seen four different ways, through the lens of four different people. The language and meaning is kept modern and on a intermediate level. There are often references to Alexander Graham Bell and the era in which he lived, as well as references to biblical and religious actions, titles, and belief systems. The structure of the book is mostly in linear fashion, with a few flashbacks. Some of the chapters include 'transcripts' from actual broadcasts that either are presently taking place, or have just taken place.
