Solar eclipse lunar eclipse apocalypse
PSYCH by Spencer A. RathusThis was the textbook used in my Dual Enrollment General Psych class. The textbook is very visually appealing, is very appropriately sized for a high school student with way too many other materials, and contains up-to-date facts and relevant examples.
The information presented in this book is very logically presented, with very useful sidebars with interesting facts and other various tidbits of information.
If you are taking an introductory Psychology course, I would definitely recommend this textbook. Granted, I have only ever taken one class in this field, but the textbook definitely helped to augment my instructors lectures (which were also outstanding).
Note that because this was loaned to me through my high school, I did not evaluate the online materials.
Eclipses in The Apocalypse, Alaska, USA
For many people, the sight of the moon turning deep red — some would say blood red — during a lunar eclipse is a wonderful sight. But for a dedicated few, this is a sign of something much more terrifying : nothing less than the apocalypse itself. After passing through so much air, the bluer colours are scattered out and all that remains is red. We see this effect in the reddening of the sunlight every sunrise and sunset. In other words, this blood moon is nothing less than all the sunrises and sunsets of the Earth, reflected back at us from the surface of the moon. Sadly, this romanticism will be lost on a dedicated few who will instead greet it with fear as a portent of terrible events.
The blood moon prophecies are a series of prophecies in the Bible preached by Christian preachers John Hagee and Mark Biltz , which state that a tetrad a series of four consecutive lunar eclipses —coinciding on Jewish holidays —with six full moons in between, and no intervening partial lunar eclipses which began with the April lunar eclipse is the beginning of the end times as described in the Bible in the Book of Joel , Acts , and Revelation The tetrad ended with the lunar eclipse on September 27—28, On April 15, , there was a total lunar eclipse which was the first of four consecutive total eclipses in a series, known as a tetrad; a second one took place on October 8, , the third one on April 4, , and the remaining one took place on September 27, It is one of eight tetrads to take place during the 21st century AD. The claim of a blood moon being a sign of the beginning of the end times originates in the Book of Joel , where it is written "the sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. The blood moon also is prophesied in the Book of Revelation chapter 6 verses 11 — 13, where verse 12 states, "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood. Hagee later wrote Four Blood Moons , that became a best seller, being more than days in Amazon.
Tonight July 26 , the moon will pass through the center of Earth's rusty-red shadow and remain there for a whopping 1 hour and 43 minutes. To astronomers, this is a thrilling example of a total lunar eclipse — the longest one we'll see for the rest of the century. To some doomsaying YouTube preachers , on the other hand, it's a terrifying example of a "blood moon," and it may be the last one we ever see in this or any century. Top 10 Doomsday Threats ]. This is not the first time a so-called blood moon has attracted prophecies of doom — not by a long shot.
