Jesus black and white drawing
Punk Rock Jesus by Sean Gordon MurphyA New York Times Bestseller!
A reality TV show starring a clone of Jesus Christ causes chaos across the U.S. of the near future in PUNK ROCK JESUS, a new graphic novel written and drawn by Sean Murphy, the acclaimed illustrator of JOE THE BARBARIAN and AMERICAN VAMPIRE.
J2 causes both outrage and adulation. Religious zealots either love or hate the show, angry politicians worry about its influence on the nation, and members of the scientific community fear the implications of cloning a human being at all, let alone the Son of God.
Thomas McKael is the cloness bodyguard and former IRA operative, who despite his turbulent past is hired to protect the new Jesus—a baby who captivates the world, but grows up to become an angry teenager.
When falling ratings force the network to cut Jesuss mother from the series the young star runs away, renounces his religious heritage and forms a punk rock band. And what starts off as babysitting for Thomas becomes an epic battle, as Jesus goes to war against the corporate media complex that created him.
Along with his artistic credits on JOE THE BARBARIAN and AMERICAN VAMPIRE: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, Murphy also wrote and illustrated the graphic novel OFF ROAD (Oni Press), and cowrote OUTER ORBIT (Dark Horse Comics).
How To Draw Jesus Christ
Collection of Jesus Drawing (42)
In his human lifetime on earth Jesus Christ was known to mingle freely with the poor and downtrodden. He never shied away from comforting the weak. Gentle as a lamb and shining like a lamp Jesus showed His infinite love and care for humanity. The preacher of universal love and rich wisdom Jesus has a simple grace that shines in His features. Look into His eyes and you can see what drew so many young children to His side. He carried the young and helpless, and you can often see Drawings of Jesus where He is depicted holding a baby in His arms.
The race and appearance of Jesus has been a topic of discussion since the days of early Christianity. Various theories about the race of Jesus have been proposed and debated. Now these documents are mostly considered forgeries. A wide range of depictions have appeared over the two millennia since Jesus's death, often influenced by cultural settings , political circumstances and theological contexts. These images are often based on second- or third-hand interpretations of spurious sources, and are generally historically inaccurate.

Jesus has been the object of veneration and worship in the West for nearly 2, years, to the point that his mildest utterances correctly attributed or not have occasionally formed the basis of whole religious movements. We do , however, know a thing or two about demographics, which means that if Jesus did exist where and when the Bible says he did, he certainly was not white. And yet today, we envision him as just that.

Despite never leaving Chicago, Warner Sallman influenced how many Christians the world over, for better or worse, picture Jesus. The truth is that religious images can serve all these purposes. Sallman was a freelance illustrator and a devout member of the Swedish Evangelical Covenant Church. That number multiplied exponentially when reproductions started appearing on clocks, lamps, buttons, laminated Bible verses, music boxes and night-lights.
