Henry and mudge and the starry night comprehension questions
Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night by Cynthia RylantHenry and his dog Mudge go camping with Henrys parents in this seventeenth Ready-to-Read book of their adventures.
Its time for a camping trip with Henrys parents! Theyll go on hikes and smell good smells. Theyll see deer and raccoons and waterfalls and rainbows. Henrys mother will cook camp food and Henrys father will sing sappy old songs, and theyll all lie on their backs and look at the stars (except for Mudge—hell chew on a log, instead). And at the end of a perfect day, Henry and Mudge will snuggle in their tent and dream wonderful green dreams.

Presentation on theme: "Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night"— Presentation transcript:
Students will build reading comprehension by learning to ask and answer questions about literature. They will practice this skill as they read a camping story about a boy named Henry and his dog, Mudge. They will also learn to categorize different types of questions and answers into four QAR groups, and use this strategy to improve reading comprehension in other texts. Be sure to have a tent, a backpack, and a lantern for specific vocabulary building to go with the story. Provide several flashlights for small groups to use as they take turns reading in the tent during the week. Discuss their experiences.
