Henry and alice into the wild
Red Queen (The Chronicles of Alice, #2) by Christina HenryThe author of Alice takes readers back down the rabbit hole to a dark, twisted, and fascinating world based on the works of Lewis Carroll...
The land outside of the Old City was supposed to be green, lush, hopeful. A place where Alice could finally rest, no longer the plaything of the Rabbit, the pawn of Cheshire, or the prey of the Jabberwocky. But the verdant fields are nothing but ash—and hope is nowhere to be found.
Still, Alice and Hatcher are on a mission to find his daughter, a quest they will not forsake even as it takes them deep into the clutches of the mad White Queen and her goblin or into the realm of the twisted and cruel Black King.
The pieces are set and the game has already begun. Each move brings Alice closer to her destiny. But, to win, she will need to harness her newfound abilities and ally herself with someone even more powerful—the mysterious and vengeful Red Queen...
The acting is solid in Henry and Alice: Into the Wild
Ytsma Some people work only to earn money, without identifying with the things they are paid to do. Others identify so completely with the work they do, that their mental image of themselves is not as a wage earner, but as a lawyer, or nurse, or teacher, or, like Henry, an engineer. Henry thinks of himself as both an engineer and as the family breadwinner, the two roles having become inseparable. When we meet Henry, however, he has lost his job. He is neither an engineer nor a breadwinner. This leaves Henry, at least at the moment, completely lost. Thanks to Henry's past success as the family breadwinner, Alice had been able to take the role of full-time home maker and mom to their three children.

Given the success of Sexy Laundry , writing a follow-up must surely have seemed a bit daunting to Vancouver playwright Michele Riml. Would she be pressing her luck? Might audiences find it too much of a good thing? Could she do it justice? Does lightning strike twice? To her credit, she took the plunge. She closed her eyes, she held her breath, she let go of the swinging rope.
