It describes both theories and specific strategies to cope with each disorder. The last chapter of the book is a comparison between cognitive therapy, psychoanalysis and behavioral therapy. He strongly endorses cognitive therapy and gives statistics on its success rates.

Even if you arent interested in psychology, you may learn useful techniques that can help you in everyday life. I really recommend it!
