Poems For Daughter
When I taught you at eight to ride a bicycle, loping along beside you as you wobbled away on two round wheels, my own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled ahead down the curved path of the park, I kept waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up, while you grew smaller, more breakable with distance, pumping, pumping for your life, screaming with laughter, the hair flapping behind you like a handkerchief waving goodbye. I have no daughters or a daughter, I have three sons, when they left home one by one, I remember this too. The happiness to have succeeded to grow them to independency and men-to-be, each son at his time. I still can feel the sadness and melancholy being left. Having read this lovely poem, reminds me again to that day for each of my sons. I did never nag about " the empty nest syndrome " since I had no time to think about that. Report Reply.
The little red rocker was just the right size To rock her baby doll that had sleepy eyes; She sang lullabies and crooned soft and low To the land of sweet dreams where sleepy dolls go. The little girl soon outgrew the red chair, The years seemed to fly that we had to share; Then one day she left for her home that was new Leaving behind the sleepy doll too. Years later at Christmas she came for a stay To visit Grandmother and make her heart gay. She brought her little girl who was bonny and fair And just the right size for the red rocking chair. Then grandmother came with the doll from the shelf To place in her arms, so the lassie herself Could sing lullabies and croon soft and low To the land of sweet dreams where sleepy dolls go. Life is fleeting, years rush past.

There is no manual for growing up. In western society there are so many options given to children that they often feel confused and lost.

Poems about motherhood cover topics as wide-ranging as anxiety about parenting to child-rearing advice. Verses can also be a metaphor for nature and remember mothers who've passed away. Far from only celebrating motherhood in a positive light, these poems cover complex issues such as bad parenting practices and how mothers can care for greater humanity. In this poem, May Sarton decides not to focus on her aging mother's health challenges. Instead, she will remember how strong her mother was, as this excerpt reveals:. Here, 19th-century poet John Greenleaf Whittier, a Quaker also known for his abolitionism, reflects on how his mother disciplined him when he was a child.
I love you daughter: It is sometimes thought that the love between a parent and daughter is something so precious that it is unspoken and need not be reminded. This is definitely not the case, it is so important to make sure that those we love are aware of how much we love them and how appreciative that they are in our lives. This is especially important for a young girl, a daughter. So do not forget to remind your daughter that she is loved. Choose one of these poems, or create your own, filled with memories, favorite traits, and love to remind your little girl that you love her, and always will. I love you!
